Finance Internship – Finance Assistant (Laos Country Office)

LOCATION:  Vientiane Capital

ROLE PURPOSE:  As a member Finance team shares in the overall responsibility for the direction and coordination of the Country Office (CO).  The Finance Assistant in his/her capacity is responsible for finance administration, assist the finance to check and development programming contexts for Save the Children in Lao PDR


Reports to:  Senior Finance Manager


Staff directly reporting to this post: N/A




Major duties are:

·         Collect and monitor the effort report (Timesheets) from all staff

·         Assist registering payment vouchers and also manage to release payment to suppliers/vendors;

·         Assist dealing with banks on collecting bank statements, cheques deposits and fund transfer and others;

·         Assist gathering signatures from the appropriate persons and processing payments;

·         Check/Verify payment vouchers, expense claims, staff advance requests and staff advance returns after recorded in register format. They are required to comply with SCI policy (Cost Norm of Partners, Cost Norm of SCI staff, budget line remaining in the system and accounting codes);

·         Support and provide the supporting documents for Audit purpose;

·         Assist to check supporting documents and GLACOS (General Ledger and Cash Offline Spreadsheet) file from sub-offices;

·         Be responsible for filing with Finance Officers after month-end close;

·         Ad hoc assigned by Finance team.

·         BA in Accounting or Business Administration or similar field;

·         Interest in Finance & Accounting;

·         Experience of working with INGO, UN or similar and experience of donor relations are an advantage;

·         Year 4th  or 5th student, new graduate or experience person are welcome;

·         Good knowledge of computer systems, software, networking, in particular in Excel;

·         Good Team Player with excellent interpersonal skills;

·         Willingness to travel and to do long workdays during peak times;

·         Ability to work independently when required without considerable day to day support;

·         Ability to plan and organize a substantial workload in order to meet the dateline;

·         Interest in working with multi – Cross culture Organization.
