Women’s Livelihood Creation (WLC) Project phase II is the second phase of a project formerly known as the Minority Women’s Livelihood Creation (MWLC)Project, implemented in Khop, Xienghone district, located near the Thai-Lao border in northern Sayaboury. It is a remote, mountain province situated in northwest Laos. The Project supports vocational skill development and credit provision for ethnic women from the Mong, Khmu, Leu and Nyouan ethnic group in topic relevance to their specific culture and local environment. The project aim is to support income generation initiatives for women, which could contribute to sustainable livelihood outcome for themselves and their family. The practical use of the skills learned in the training courses are promoted through a small credit fund and micro finance training in support of livelihood initiatives and/or to empower vulnerable women and enhance their capacity, confidence and motivation.
