Thank you for deciding to become a member of the Internet Directory of NGOs in the Lao PDR!
On next pages you will find the NGO Information Form - an on-line form for collecting information from member NGOs to be available in the Directory. Following comments from a number of members, we have revised our NGO Information Form to make it easier to fill out. The form now consists of 5 sections: 1) NGO Contact Information, 2) Branch Offices and International Headquarters, 3) NGO Programme, History and Future Plans, 4) Project Details and 5) Links and Comments. Each of these sections is a separate form that can be filled out on its own.
This form is intended for the initial information collection only. It is completely free. There is, however, a small annual fee of US$60 for maintenance, updates and hosting of the Directory. We hope you understand, that this is a community initiative that has to be supported by members. We believe that such a small fee will not be an obstacle on your way to becoming a member of the Directory. Once we receive the initial information from you, we will contact you regarding the fee collection. You will then be given a user name and password to access your private member area, where you can add/modify information you have submitted.
To fill out the form, and do it quickly, please have the following information about your NGO ready:
All address and contact details for your NGO, including all Branches and Project Offices in Laos, as well as international headquarters info;
Your NGO's descriptions of all sorts, including of programme, philosophy and history in Laos;
Detailed information about all Projects you run in Laos, including district and sectors of activity, manager's contact details, donors/partners and some financial data (optional);
An image file of your NGO's Logo;
Files for your NGO's Publications what you would like to be available in the Directory;
Up to 10 photos as image files you would like to add to your NGO's Photo Gallery page.
You probably have all or most of the above information already in different files, and you can copy-and-paste it into corresponding fields in the form.
After you complete and submit each Section, you will be presented with a confirmation page with further instructions and options to proceed. If your information could not be submitted for some reason, you will see an error page with options to re-submit the form.
After you fill out the last section of the form (Section 5), you will need to submit your NGO's pictures and publications. Just follow the instructions on that page.
Please remember, that the sections can be filled out in any order. A list of all sections and form pages with links to them is at the bottom of this page. We do, however, recommend that you go through the Sections in order if this is your first time filling out the form. For those of you interested, the original form can be found here. It is working and you can fill it out instead.
Please carefully read through the Important Notes below and then click "Proceed..." button.
When you fill out the form, make sure you fill in all Required Fields, which are marked with a * and a light-blue background.
The forms can not save the information you type in - if you close the form window it will not re-open with all your information still there! Even if you try saving it with a different name. Each section thus has to be filled out in one go.
You DO NOT have to stay connected to the Internet once a form page is fully loaded - feel free to disconnect and fill out the form in off-line mode. Just remember to GO BACK ON-LINE before pressing "Submit Form" button!
Alternatively, you can save the section's page to your computer and then fill it out later in off-line mode. To do so, after a form page is fully loaded, select "Save As..." from the File menu in your browser. Please keep in mind that the form can not save the information you type in.
You HAVE TO BE ON-LINE (connected to the Internet) when you are pressing "Submit Form" button.
You have to re-submit the Branches/International Headquarters and Project Sections for each branch office and project you have.
While you are filling out the forms, please see if you think we have MISSED some information you would like to have in the Directory. Please add your ideas in the Comments section of the form (Section 5).
Finally, please fill in as much information as possible ! This will guarantee full representation of your NGO in the Directory and will make the Directory more useful!!!
